Human Resources (HR) Manager Job Description for Hahn Bros., Inc.
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will lead, direct, and hands-on manage the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Talent Management: Oversees the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of employees and selection process, ensuring the hiring of top talent.
- Benefits Administration: Manages and oversees employee benefits programs.
- Employee Relations: Addresses employee concerns, handles grievances, and fosters a positive work environment. Handles complex employee relations issues, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company practices.
- Strategic Planning: Develops, implements, and oversees HR policies, procedures, and strategies to support the organization's goals.
- Compliance: Ensures legal compliance with all relevant HR laws and regulations throughout human resource management.
- Performance Management: Develops and implements performance management systems, including providing constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Department Leadership: Ultimately oversees the HR department, manages staff, and ensures effective HR operations. Develops and monitors overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, including recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations, documenting all actions.
- Manages and administers the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Ensures gathering and maintaining of proper documentation from employees such as driver’s license, personal information, emergency contact, tax forms, and I-9 documentation, including conducting internal I-9 yearly audit, and input into Paylocity software.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches, proposes, and administers competitive base and incentive pay programs and employee benefits package to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees, coordinating efforts with Quality Assurance (QA)
- Oversees and manages employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, with proper documentation.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Determines key components of policies and practices and then develops, implements, and maintains company policies, including Employee Handbook, Policies & Procedures, Forms, and Workflow Job Descriptions, ensuring consistency of quality
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related fields; a master’s degree or HR certification is highly desirable
- Experience: 5-10 years’ experience in HR, with a focus on HR management, hands-on execution, and strategy development
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly desired.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

65K – 85K
