Vice President for Human Resources & Employee Experience
Arcadia University seeks a seasoned, strategic, nimble, and inclusive leader to serve as the next Vice President for Human Resources and Employee Experience (VPHR). Reporting to the President, the VPHR will oversee all facets of Arcadia’s human resources enterprise including talent acquisition and retention, performance management, professional development, employee engagement and belonging, compensation, benefits, payroll, HR systems and compliance. The VP will lead, empower, and professionally develop a team of nine professional staff who in turn provide excellent service and resources to approximately 425 faculty and 425 staff. The ideal candidate will be a visionary HR leader who can balance strategic initiatives with hands-on execution to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and overall business success.
The VPHR is responsible for leading the strategic vision and execution of HR programs that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace. Strong candidates will bring financial and operational acumen and will enhance employee satisfaction and retention in a resource-constrained environment. The VPHR will both empower and support the workforce through collaboration, connection, celebration, and innovation to foster an exceptional employee experience. Serving as a valued member of the president's cabinet, the VPHR will be a strategic partner in charting the course for the university’s future and implementing programs and services that reflect the university's mission and goals.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred) and 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex environment, including experience in senior HR roles. Preferred qualifications include HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR), experience working with collective bargaining agreements, and familiarity with Title IX, ADA, and other higher education-specific employment regulations.
